Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hello,
Prolactin can rise due to many reasons. Stress, certain medicines ( for acidity, vomiting, nausea), nipple stimulation, sexual intercourse , chest trauma etc can rise prolactin temporarily. If it is coming down on its own, no need of MRI.
It is not clear which unit you are mentioning. But if it is ng/ml, then 8.6 is normal.
