What Causes Low Grade Fever, Sneezing And Pressure In The Jaws?

Hi, My name is Kristi and I am 43. I have had a temperature of 100.0 for a few, perhaps just two days. It started with sneezing and sinus pressure in my upper jaw/teeth area, and a runny nose four days ago. Then the runny nose became thick, greenish these last two days, and a headache, not severe, but body aches, too, and I am taking Advil. But what I am concerned with is that for the last 24 hours I have felt bouts of dizziness - even when sitting down. So I lay all the way down and it helps. It has happened at least 8 times, this dizzy feeling. I have never had a cold with dizzy feelings, so I am concerned. Is this a cold?

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Your symptoms are clearly pointing towards Sinus infection or Sinusitis..
The thick greenish discharge from nose is due to accumulation of infected mucous in the nose.
The sinuses are connected to nose through fine channels and drains through nose therefore sinus infection can cause congestion in the nose and discharge of thick infected mucous through nose..
Roots of upper teeth are close to the floor of maxillary sinuses, therefore it causes soreness, pressure and pain in upper teeth and jaws..
You should consult an ENT Physician and get examined.
You need to take a course of antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkiller like Advil that you are already doing and along with it decongestant nasal spray will also be advised.
Take acetaminophen for fever reduction.
Do steam inhalation and warm compresses around nose..

Hope you get well soon..

Regards.
