What Causes Low BP Levels And Dizziness While On Metoprolol?

My husband started taking metoprolol success 50 mg. about a month and a half ago for stress induced high blood pressure and a aneurysm in his accenting aorta of 4.1. After a few days his BP was very good but today it was 99/62. & 98/58 and was feeling dizzy. I m a bi concern d about this, should I be? Thank you, Janet YYYY@YYYY

It seems that the medicines prescribed for high blood pressure are having higher dosage than needed for your husband in current situation. It could be because of probable stress reduction too that required the start of medicines in the first place. It some patients, it takes time to adjust to a certain dose for hypertension in the phase when medicines are started. So dose increase or reduction is required until finalizing a specific dose that suits.

You should consult the prescribing doctor and ask him to adjust the dosage. For stress induced hypertension, yoga and meditation can help for long term control of blood pressure.
