What Causes Loud Popping Sound From Lower Back?

I had an old bath tub in my yard filled with water that I needed to empty. I incorrectly chose to pull the tub over. While doing so I heard a loud pop in my lower back. What could that loud pop have been? MRI s show a bulging disc and arthritis. Could the arthritis be the major case of my lower back pain or would it be the bulging disc instead? Thanks.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Dear patient
Bulging disc is not the cause of back pain. It leads to nerve root compression and radiating pain in Lower limbs. It leads to back pain only when it is associated with instability. Arthritis is responsible for local back pain. Was xrays done ? If not done already get Xray of lumbosacral spine anteroposterior and lateral views done. If arthritis is limited to one or two facet joints they can be treated with facetal blocks. If more facet joints are involved fusion may be required. Take a visit to expert spine surgeon and get yourself examined. All the best.
