What Causes Loud Gurgling In The Lower Abdomen?

What’s the cause of my abnormal bowel habits and noise coming from lower gut. I have all sorts of gurgles/whines/movements in my gut that I’ve never had before. And bloating and frequent gas is common. Solid stools are rare. And mild diarrhea with constipation I have almost every day. I found drinking water before my meals helps these noises calm down. It’s not necessarily the pain but the anxiety the noises in my gut gives me.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

* As per my clinical experience, there seems to be intestine flora disturbances with motility alteration due to various reasons as

- dietary habits
- sedentary life style
- lack of hydration
- digestive enzymes issues
- liver, stomach, intestine, gall bladder or bile drainage issues
- pancreas disorders. After primary evaluation clinically and a trial of 1-2 weeks conservative treatment is recommended before deciding for the diagnostic work up.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
