What Causes Long And Abnormal Bleeding During Periods?

Hello, I m 18 and I m have a very frustrating time with my period. Every period up until my last one was normal. My last one was suppose to start August 12th. However, it didn t. The next day when I went to the bathroom and wiped, there was blood. So naturally I assumed that my period had begun. However, afterwards it was just a little light brown discharge every now and then. The following week, it was completely dark brown like what I normally get after a period. It stayed like that for a good 5 days before it turned red. The red lasted about 4-6 days, before turning dark brown. Which is normal of my period. The problem is that it hasn t stopped. Although it s gotten a little lighter, it always comes out enough that my underwear is stained brown. I asked my pediatrician about it but she said it was normal. I m not sexually active, still a virgin and extremely frustrated with this situation. Please help

Hello,

You are having irregular periods with heavy flow. It commonly occurs due to stress, anxiety, doing too much exercises, hormonal problems, thyroid issues, low or high body weight, eating junk food, not eating enough calories, etc. You are suggested to avoid stressful lifestyle. Maintain healthy weight. take home made food over junk food.

Get clinically examined by a gynecologist / GP, get blood tests and all required tests and investigations done to detect any thyroid or hormonal issue. You will be treated accordingly. In the meantime, you can take a good Uterine tonic (Utero fem), one tsp twice daily to help regulate your menstruation so that your periods are regularized.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
