What Causes Limping Despite Giving Orapred For Knee Pain In Right Leg?

My 6 year old son started limping on his right leg. He said his leg feels tired and when we took him to the clinic, they didn t notice anything other than the pain was in his knee. They prescibed orapred and he said his knee doesn t hurt, in fact he has no pain. However he still limps when he first wakes up and after sitting. I asked his teacher if she notices him limping as well as the folks in aftercare, but they all say no. I am concerned and confused as to what this is as there is no swelling, pain or fever and he runs, jumps, climbs and plays like normal.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is understandable to be concerned about the persisting limp particularly if you cannot pinpoint a specific cause or injury.

Limping may be due to pain in the muscles or joints or any issues with the structure of the limbs.

If it continues he may need review at the clinic or with a specialist such as an orthopedic doctor.
They specialize in injury to the bones, tendons and muscles and would be able to determine if there is any problem with any of these structures.

Blood tests may be needed as well, to check for any evidence of inflammation.

I hope this helps
