What Causes Lesions On The Liver And Lungs Along With Abdominal Pain?

Hi, My brother in law is in the hospital with the following symptoms. Lesions/marks on the liver and lungs, Pericarditis. abdominal pain. They have not determined what is is yet. The symptoms have been going in for a little over a month. There were biopsies done yesterday and we are waiting on the results. Would you have an idea. It was suggested perhaps sarcoidosis.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I understand your concern.

Lesions/marks on the liver and lungs, pericarditis, abdominal pain could be due to sarcoidosis but infectious disease should be ruled out. Other tumors (primary and secondary) should be also considered.

Please provide the tests reports your brother in law has done so far in order to analyze the findings myself.

Next, apart abdominal pain, I need to know if he is also having:
- fever?
- difficulty in breathing?
- coughing?
- changes in bowel movement?
- and explain all the symptoms he has.

This is necessary to understand all his current health problems.

All the best.
