What Causes Later Periods And Negative Pregnancy Test?

Hi! I m 7 days late on my period but have taken 3 home Pregnancy tests and all came back negative. Could I still be pregnant but just have low HCG levels? I do have an iron deficiency and didn t know if thT could be playing a role. I m NEVER late for my period so this is unusual.

Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern. With successive negative home pregnancy tests, it is unlikely that you could be pregnant. A sonogram of the pelvis, preferably in the trans-vaginal route, after a proper clinical evaluation by an expert, helps to clarify the situation. Other factors that could lead to a delayed menstrual period are sudden weight disturbances, stress, infections, malnutrition states like anemia and hypoproteinemia, use of certain medications and cysts of the ovary. If pregnancy is excluded, you may be induced with hormones. Please maintain a healthy lifestyle. Hope this helps.
