What Causes Knee And Joint Pain After A Total Hysterectomy?
Hi, I am 37 years old and had total hysterectomy done about 6 months ago. I am experiencing some joint pain in my knees and shoulders since few weeks. I want to know if this is normal after such a surgery or do I have to be concerned about it. Thank you.

Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist, Jenis Bhalavat's Response
Hi,
Hysterectomy leads to hormonal imbalances which in turn leads to loss of calcium from the bones. This is the main cause of osteoporosis among women leading to joint pain. You need to do a blood test to check your calcium levels and depending upon the result you can start with calcium supplements.
Hope you find this helpful. Let me know if I can assist you further.
