What Causes Itchy Red Bumps At The Base Of Hair On Body?

I have small itchy red bumps at the base of my hairs on my body. It also seems to be spreading a little. I am very hygienic so I m not sure why I have these. There s no pain or anything the just itch. Feels like the poison ivy kind of itch. Any ideas?

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of itchy red bumps at the base of hair on body which is a common skin condition in which hair follicles become inflamed due to fungal infection leading to folliculitis.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to keep that area dry, wear loose clothes. You should apply a warm, moist washcloth and compress skin and apply soothing lotions. You should gently wash the infected skin twice a day with antibacterial soap. Take diet rich in fluids. You should consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe antifungal medicine.
