What Causes Itchy Rashes On The Stomach And Back After Treatment Of Typhoid?

Hi, I got Typhoid fever in August. Typhoid is cured now, my results are negative but after it is cured, I developed skin rashes with itching near my stomach and back. Rashes are red to purple in color. Please suggest medicines for the same. Shall i visit dermatologist for these skin rashes?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It can be an allergic skin rash. You can post a photo of the lesion to comment further.

Topical calamine lotion can be applied over rash.

The antihistaminic drug like levocetirizine can be prescribed for the rash.

If no improvement in five days than Consult dermatologist for detailed evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami, General & Family Physician
