What Causes Itchy Rashes On The Face?

My question is for a dermatologist. I am a 47 year old woman with fair skin which has turned red/blotchy in the last few years. But in the last several days, I have developed a severe, bumpy, red, itchy rash-like condition over most of my face except for my forehead. It s so itchy that I want to claw my face off!

Hi,

As per your query, you have symptoms of itchy rashes on the face which seems to be due to an allergic reaction, the result of sensitivity to sunlight and eczema.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to keep your face clean and dry and protect it from the sun. You should take benadryl and apply petroleum jelly. If the condition doesn't get well then consult a dermatologist for proper. The doctor may order a skin patch test, blood test along with allergy test. The doctor may prescribe immunosuppressants, antibacterial or antifungal depending upon the diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
