What Causes Itchy Rashes In The Armpit?

My mom has to wait until next week to see her doctor. She is on Norco 10 and 25mg fentanyl patch, she has severe chronic pain, she is on chemo Rubraca for ovarian cancer, she s been taking for about 2 months, but has been off for about 2 weeks because she waiting for the prescription to come in. She has recently developed a rash, sometimes itchy, in her arm pit area. Not sure what to use to relieve the rash or what would be causing the rash. Looking for suggestions. Thank you so much in advance. She suffers from pain and this is just adding more. Dianna

Hello,

An itchy rash in armpit could be due to fungal infection. I suggest you keep the armpit dry and consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment and thus treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
