What Causes Itchy Rashes All Over The Body After A Fever?

I had a fever 2days ago,now I have various sized patches all over my body that itch/burn and exhibit raised bumps and are bright red. If I take benadryl with in a half hour they recede and almost disappear...3-4 hours later they return. Most intense neck/hairline,palms of hands, inner elbows abdomen where clothes touch skin. Gland at jawline and groin are swollen and sensitive to touch.
