Hi I m 20 and female On my thigh It started off as an itch no lumps or pimples just a small itch that wouldn t go away Ended up realising that there was a scab there after a day of it being itchy. Now I have about 5 small bruises on my leg near it. I haven t bumped into anything or done anything to myself for them to come up. I am allergic to mozzies but at the moment where I live there are no mozzies whatsoever and constantly in long pants because it s winter. Any suggestions to what this might be ?
Hi. As per your case history you are having fungal infection called as tinea corporis. My treatment advice is - 1. Maintain good hygiene and bath twice daily. 2. Apply an antifungal cream like clotrimazole cream twice daily on it. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for itching. 4. Other treatment options are oral fluconazole, itraconazole and terbinafine taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
