What Causes Itchy Bumps On Scalp?

im a 22 yr old male and about a year ago i started noticing my scalp was starting to itch and i had a small bump here and there and i paid it no mind at first but it started getting worse and worse and the bumps started having like yellow type of crust. i started panicing and doing research and i started using shampoos with coal tar in it after failing with head and shoulders. well it really was gone until a flair up recently but am i going to have to continue this forever? and my hair is a little thinner at the crown and top of my head...will it regrow?

Thanks for reaching out to us..
You seem to have a variant of dandruff which worsens with oozing and crusting wen you itch..
Rather than a tar shampoo..go for a shampoo with salicylic acid and ketoconazole twice to thrice in a week for maintenace..
The flares are a part of the disease process and depends on the climate too..it requires mild steroid lotion for control..
The hair on your crown will definately improve in density on proper treatment in consultation with your dermatologist..
Thanks and take care..
