What Causes Itching In The Throat, Sinus Congestion And Low Grade Fever?
Hi...I presented with a scratchy throat 5 days ago and a low grade fever of 100.1. Fever lasted 2-3 days, around 99 upon waking and back up to 100 at night. No fever yesterday...temp 98.5. Fever returned today at about 99.9. Sinus congestion, and lethargy. At night, I am awaking every 1 to 1.5 hours to urinate as I am pushing fluids. Every time I get up, I drink another glass of water to help mucous secretions that are mostly clear. Still congested with slight cough and I don t feel like doing anything.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of itching in the throat, sinus congestion and low grade fever which seems to be due to viral infection and low grade fever is mainly because immunity is lower down because of infection.
Need not to worry. i would suggest you to
- Take paracetamol to prevent fever and combination of decongestants and multivitamin tablet. You should avoid touching eyes, nose again and again. drink plenty of fluids. Antibiotics will not give much relief to you as yours symptoms are more like viral infection. Your symptoms will resolve in 5-7 days. If your symptoms keeps on persisting the visit general physician and get complete examination done. You should get blood and throat swab tests done. Start treatment after complete examination.
