Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been itchy on the back of my knee for at least a month. Until recently I didn t notice anything there until last week when I saw what looked like a bug bite. (slightly raised small area skin color). I of course scratched it so much it bled then scabbed over. The surrounding area continued to itch until I tried cortisone which mildly helped. I then started using lotrimin and that s made a large improvement. The itch is not nearly as intense but I am still concerned... Any ideas?
It is mostly due to some sort of fungal infection nothing else. For treatment you can take some antibiotic preferably cefadroxyl or ampoxin after an expert advice along with avil or cetrizine for intense itching. You can also use candid-b powder or betnovate-c cream for local application.
