Thank you for your query.

Fecal incontinence (passage of stools without your knowledge) occurs when there is laxity of anal muscles or when there is a pathological process that irritates the mucosa.

Certain surgical procedures can also result in local muscle loss and lead to incontinence. Obesity, sedentary lifestyle, pregnancy and vaginal delivery can also loosen the muscles of the pelvic floor and result in incontinence
Fecal matter leaks through the anal canal and irritates the skin which causes itchiness.

Some parasitic infection (like pinworms) cause anal itching and diarrhea.

I recommend that you see your physician to rule out parasites and incontinence.
A recent but of diarrhea can continue for a few days as incontinence and will settle once the cause has been treated.
Antihelminthics are prescribed till the infection has cleared up.

In the meantime, continue to keep the area clean. Do not digitally manipulate, use a strong water jet, or rub the area to keep it clean. This may aggravate it by irritating the anal muscle and drying the skin around, causing cracks and leading to skin infections.

Use a lubricant, like Vaseline, to coat the area around the anus. This will prevent irritation of the skin should incontinence occur.
Exercise and strengthen your pelvic floor and core body muscles (ask your physician for appropriate exercises)
Hope this helps. Feel free to get back to us should you need further clarification.
Wish you good health
