What Causes Irregular Vaginal Bleeding While Being Sexually Active?

I am 49 yo fem, had hysterectomy in 2008, partial, still have ovaries. Tonight noticed light vaginal bleeding, last sexual contact was about 4 nights ago, was not rough...possible cause of this tonight? No sports, very sedentary career as 911 dispatcher, and am at work the last 9 hours.

OB and GYN Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Bleeding after sexual intercourse is quite normal and u have a History of partial hysterectomy which causes dryness of vagina so pain and bleeding is quite obvious in your case.

To avoid these symptoms you should use lubricants (e.g. coconut oil as its easily available) before sexual intercourse.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Naira Jahangir, OB and GYN Specialist
