Hello, and I hope I can help you today.

If you are having unprotected intercourse, and you do not use any contraception, there is a possibility that you could be pregnant. Pregnancy can cause more blood flow to the cervix as the uterus grows and develops, which can result in bleeding more easily after intercourse or other cervical trauma.

Modern pregnancy tests are extremely accurate and can diagnose pregnancy within ten to 14 days after conception. So if you've had enough time since your last act of unprotected intercourse, I recommend that you purchase an over-the-counter urine pregnancy test and performance to determine if you are pregnant. I recommend refraining from further sexual activity until you perform pregnancy test.

If you are pregnant, I recommend seizing sexual activity until you see a doctor for prenatal care. If you are not pregnant, you can bleed from trauma to the cervix, and I would recommend you also schedule an appointment with a GYN doctor to make sure that you do not have a reason for bleeding from your cervix. Cervical bleeding can be caused by infection, inflammation, and most seriously, cervical abnormalities including cancer. It is important that you be evaluated to rule these conditions out if you are not pregnant.

I hope I was able to adequately answer your question today, and that my advice was helpful.

Best wishes,

Dr. Brown
