What Causes Irregular Periods After Tubal Litigation?

I am 33 years old and had my tubes tied, cut and burnt 3 1/2 years ago. I have PCOS but I ve had irregular periods since my son was born three and a half years ago. Last month I did not have a period at all except for very light spotting. This month I had a little bit of brownish blood when I wiped but nothing in my pad so no period again this month. I have taken several pregnancy tests and they are all negative. Could I still be pregnant?

Hello ma'am and welcome.

Pregnancy is highly unlikely after a tubal ligation and moreover in such scenarios we do not consider only pregnancy. You need an elaborate medical examination to look into the cause for the bleed and skipped period which is quite often seen after medical procedures like yours.

You may require hormonal level correction by supplementation and also an elaborate check on your thyroid profile, etc. Please approach your doctor for an elaborate evaluation.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
