What Causes Irregular Menstruation With Fatigue And Sleeplessness?

Hi, I m 15 yeras old and a started to have a frequent periods- every 18days. I am not used to that. I normally had 28 period cycle with no big or painful bloating. My period normally lasted 4 days. I had a lot of stress during these 2 last months, I can t fall asleep and I crave more food. I feel faint, because of the lack of sleep. Nowadays I have a very irregular periods and I noticed I have dark brown bloating. I have had a headache every single day since january 2016, so I m starting to worry a little. My abdominal is lightly in pain too, even when I don t have period. My pelvic hurts+ back. What should I do? Thank you!

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Consult a gynaecologist and get evaluated. Conditions like PCOS is a possibility. An ultrasound abdomen is required for further assessment. A thyroid function test is also required to rule out hypothyroidism.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
