What Causes Intermittent Menstrual Bleeding And Bloating?

HI, Currently I am having various periods, after an absence of seven months. I am 51 yrs of age. The intervals of these periods are not what they used to be, when I was younger. I am experiencing lack of energy with also bloating problems. Is there something that you could suggest over the counter to help with this uneven menopause?

OBGYN 's  Response
Hello,

In the current scenario, I would ask you to see a specialist for a proper evaluation and plan further management.

Since you are in the peri-menopausal age, these abnormal menstrual patterns happen.

Bloating is usually a hormone effect.

However, it is necessary to get a proper exam, a sonogram and hormone assay to confirm and also to see if there is a need for an endometrial biopsy in case of any endometrial hyperplasia or polyps.

Please do not go for self-medication.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shanti Vennam, OBGYN
