What Causes Intermittent Dizzy Spells While On Treatment For Ear Infection?

I went to the doctor a week and half ago to have my ears drained (wax builds up uncomfortably) upon removal of the wax from my right ear the doctor said I had a minor ear infection and prescribed drops, I m still using the drops and have been feeling dizzy on and off, is this a normal side effect?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The symptom of dizziness is not due to ear infection or collection of wax in the ear.
The inner ear is associated with maintaining balance and equilibrium besides hearing.
Infections, inflammations, or any other disorder of outer or middle ear can lead to stimulation of inner ear and thus can lead to disturbance in balance and can affect hearing too.
The feeling of dizziness is not due to ear drops.
The dizziness will disappear when the infection in outer / middle ear clears away.
If the problem is distressing, you can consult your ENT specialist for prescription of drug which controls dizziness.

Thanks and take care
