Hello,

You have irregular periods. You are bleeding with heavy clots. You are also bleeding between periods. Bleeding between periods with large clots may be indicative of side effects of taking hormonal contraceptive pills. It can also occur if you miss a combined pill, miss progestogen only pill, have problems with patch or vaginal rings, taking emergency CP, having a recent miscarriage, stress, etc.

Medical conditions that can cause similar symptoms are PCOS, PID, sexually transmitted diseases, Chlamydia, cervical cancer, fibroids, endometriosis, etc. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a Gynae, get all required tests and investigations done. Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected. Get treated at the earliest. Stay away from addictions if any. Take home made food rich in iron, minerals and protein.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
