What Causes Hissing Sound In The Left Ear?
Hi. I ve had a hissing sound in my left ear (tinnitus?) for almost 2 weeks now. My doctor told me that I have a build up of wax in my ear, but even after using some olive oil and feeling that the ear canal has cleared the tinnitus is still there. And it s quite loud. What can I do? Am I losing my earing?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have hissing sound in your left ear ,which increased now . Well the symptoms you mention in query are pointing towards a condition known as tinnitus . There can be many reasons for tinnitus like ear wax build up , stress and anxiety , temporomaandibular problem ( TMJ) , change in the local blood pressure or overall blood pressure and underlying condition like meniere's disease . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist again for proper checkup . Doctor may order CT scan , MRI , blood test , and examination with otoscope . Doctor may prescribe anti emetic drug , sedative , antibiotics or supplements like ginko biloba . For now drink green teat thrice a day , do meditation and yoga , which are very helpful in such case .
