General & Family Physician 's  Response
High bilirubin with high alkaline phosphatase level is defiantly a sign of concern. they are high in intrahepatic obstruction or infiltrative disease .please go through more tests for all types of hepatitis B, C or even hepatitis A.Unconjugated bilirubin is broken product of blood so any blood disorder like haemolytic anaemia or any other haemolytic is also needed to be ruled out.Slightly higher alkaline phosphatase is seen in growing chilren as they are also present in growing bone tissue. These all abnormalities can be caused by side effects of drugs even as common as acetaminophen.
