Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes High Fever, Mouth Ulcer, Poor Appetite And Fatigue In Children?
An 8 year old male with mild fever x2 days 99-100 degrees. He has several small mouth ulcers, poor appetite and general fatigue. I m wondering if I need to make an appointment with his MD. I think he may have Hand, Foot and Mouth, but if he does it is a mild case.
Your information suggests he is deficient of vitamins and protein as well. Since he is having fever also we need to treat his infection as well. he needs antibiotic like Amoxicillin, anti-pyretics like paracetamol and supplementary like multivitamins. Frequent hand washing with wormicidal drugs like albendazole need to add. Please visit your local pediatrician for above medications. This is not Hand-foot-and-mouth disease.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pramod Kokare, General & Family Physician
