What Causes High Fever Despite Taking Augmentin-DS And Panadol?

Hello my girl is three and half years old. She if sufferring from fever since last 5 days. Initial 3 days showed no reasons but just fever. Since last 2 days she is suffering from cough and bad voice. Doctor prescribed Augmentin-DS every 12 hours along with Panadol every 6 hours. We have given almost 3 doses of Augmentin-DS so far in last 24 hours but her fever is not lowering. Her fever is 101 despite after Panadol. Can you please suggest shall we seek for ER or wait for the antibiotic to take effect? Or any other suggestions?

Hi, you need to watch out for symptoms of cough and bad voice along with temperature. If they are improving, I would suggest you to continue the antibiotics and finish the course as prescribed. Use panadol (paracetamol) also as needed in the prescribed doses for fever.
If the temperature is increasing along with severe cough, bad voice and throat pain, you can seek ER services.
