What Causes High Fever Along With Dizziness And Severe Headaches?

My 8 old daughter has had a fever for 4 days now (101.4) she complains of a very bad headache and must be dizzy because she needs help walking. We brought her to the clinic and they just said she tested negative for strep and doesn t have the flu, give her Popsicles and she ll be fine. They didn t take any blood though. I feel like going on day 5 of this I should be concerned and maybe bring her else where. Any ideas?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have high fever along with dizziness and severe headaches which could be due to urinary tract infection or viral infection. I would suggest you to start with paracetamol . Maintain hydration status of yourself. Take curd in diet as a probiotics food . Also take over the counter anti emetic drug .Start taking oral rehydration fluids sip by sip to maintain the hydration. Avoid cold carbonated beverages and spicy and oily food. Take analgesic medication along with antiinflammatory medication. Avoid taking large meals to and take small but frequent meals. Visit general physician once and get it examined. You should go for blood tests as well and start treatment after proper examination. Doctor may also refer you to ENT specialist for eat problem like otitis media .
