What Causes High Blood Pressure In Spite Of Taking Medication?

I am on blood pressure medication for high blood pressure. However, my pressure has been running 115/51. My pulse has been running 50, 41, 55, 51 and I have been very tired and have trouble sleeping. I went from my pill and 1/2 to just one pill. Pressure now has been running 130/51, 125/ 55. Pulse is still slow at 51, 50, 41. What is wrong?

Hello welcome to HCM.
I have read your question and understand your concerns.
The blood pressure you have mentioned are all in normal range except diastolic blood pressure is slightly low. But if you have no symptoms than continue same medicines.

You should mention your drugs actually because if you are taking B-blockers(like atenolol metoprolol or nebivolol) then it will reduce your blood pressure as well as pulse rate also.

So, ask your doctor whether you are on any medication that can reduce heart rate.

Ideally you should do 24 hrs ambulatory blood pressure monitoring also. It will give you proper idea about blood pressure fluctuations and pulse rate also.
Thank you.
Have a nice day.
