General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

High levels of amylase are usually found in pancreatitis which needs a conservative treatment.

But apart from pancreatitis, high amylase levels can also be found in certain pancreatic, salivary or ovarian tumors.

The doctor was not concerned as you were not losing weight as weight loss is one of the first symptoms in case of tumors.

So let me tell you that instead of being concerned, you should be happy that till now nothing is serious.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Prabhash Verma,
