What Causes High WBC And Neutrophils Count After Severe Septic Shock?

I recently had MRSA and severe septic shock. Hospitalized in ICU for 15 days. Ever since I have been getting abscesses and cellulitis. Friday and Saturday had 102.5 fever so went to the hospital. My CBC says high wbc, rdw and neutrophils, and 0 basophils. What does this mean?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to the health care magic

In blood usually basophils are undetectable..
So for zero basophils no worry...

Your neutrophils high suggestive towards blood infection with bacteria...

You are having MRSA positive staph infection for which according to culture report complete course of antibiotics given...

As you are getting repeated bacterial infection in form of abscess, diabetes and HIV like immunocompromisation status should be ruled out....
For the RBS and ELISA testing can be done

Take care

Nearby physicians consultation advisable for examination
