What Causes The Septic Shock Lead To Multi Organ Failure?

my husband died 2 weeks ago the death cerfiicate state causes were natural due to septic shock and nursing home assocaited Pneumonia. He also said the septic shock was causing multi organ failure. How is this possible? I spent all day and late at night with him on Tuesday and he seemed fine. On Thursday morning, Nursing home sent him to hospital ER about dead with a booldl pressure of 66?38

Hi, thanks for posting your concern in the HCM. I am really sorry to learn that you have just lost your husband.
However, I think the death from multi-organ failure after septic shock is possible. Your husband might have got hospital acquired strains that caused the pneumonia. Often these strains are multi-drug resistant. So, response to antibiotic might not have been good and he eventually developed sepsis, which later on progressed to circulatory failure and shock. Hence, there was reduced blood supply to important organs including kidney, liver etc, leading to multiorgan failure.
