Hello!
Thank you for asking Healthcaremagic!
I understand your concern!
At about the age of 40, most women begin to have hormone changes and begin to take place in preparation for menopause. The ovaries begin to lose their ability to produce mature follicles, estrogen and
progesterone. This may be signaled by higher levels of FSH.
High FSH level indicates that your ovaries are not working properly, other causes may be:
-
hormone therapy -certain types of tumor in the pituitary gland
-Turner Syndrome
FSH results can be increased with use of certain drugs, including
cimetidine,
clomiphene, digitalis, and levodopa.
Results of an FSH test are usually considered with results of other hormone tests, such as LH , estrogens, and
testosterone.
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us.
Wishing you good health!
