What Causes High BUN/creatinine Ratio While On Creon?

I am taking Creon, but it seem to be hurting my kidneys (high BUN and BUN/Creatinine ratio and bothering my blood sugar (shaky after eating, thirsty, light headed, sleepy). Is there something else that will do what Creon does but not give me these symptoms?

Hello,

If your kidneys are not able to remove urea from the blood normally, your BUN level rises. Heart failure, dehydration, or a diet high in protein can also make your BUN level higher. Liver disease or damage can lower your BUN level. A low BUN level can occur normally in the second or third trimester of pregnancy.

Creon won't cause high blood urea nitrogen, it may be caused by renal insufficiency or pancreatitis or heart failure. It is possible Creon may increase absorption of protein due to its protein digesting enzyme which may lead to high blood urea nitrogen.

Hope I have answered your query.
