What Causes Hernia And How Dangerous Is It?

dear sir, I visited to the local doctor for swelling in the lower abdomen left side, the doctor advised me this is hernea you have to go for surgical treatment. There is no medicine for this. I watn to know what s the reason for this desease.Is it dangerous to health?

Hello,

The reason underlying hernia is the weakening of the abdominal wall, due to a birth defect, weight lifting and obesity. Have you had surgery before? Sometimes hernia is formed in the surgical wound after surgery. Anyway, I agree with your doctor the surgery is the only solution to this problem, as it may become life threatening if not treated.
