What Causes Heavy Vaginal Bleeding After Intercourse?
Hi. Today me and my boyfriend where experimenting and he accidentally tore/broke my hymen. I have been bleeding non stop for about 6 hours, and there is also small blood clots coming out. He did not ejaculate in me and we immediatly stopped after it tore. I m concerned about the heavy flow of blood and pregnancy. He did urinate before we started. I m wondering if I should be concerned about the heavy flow, about every 15 minutes, and the chances of getting pregnant.
** Thanks for contacting HCM with your health concern
1. The most common cause of bleeding after first intercourse is rupture of hymen/corona or due to normal menstruation during first sexual intercourse. 2. for vaginal bleeding to be considered as 'heavy flow' it has to be continuous for 2-3 days and then should be addressed by a health care professional 3. heavy blood flow and still coming exclude chances of pregnancy
PS. Bleeding from the vagina, either during or just after sexual intercourse, is never normal and should always be checked by a doctor. A variety of vaginal, cervical, or uterine conditions can lead to bleeding as a result of sex, such as general inflammation, various sexually transmitted infections (STIs), or abnormal growths.
