General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Heavy menstrual bleeding could be due to hormonal imbalance, adenomyosis/fibroid, cervix/endometrial dysplasia, pelvic inflammatory disease, polyp. I would suggest to consult a gynecologist and undergo vaginal examination, reproductive hormone analysis, USG scan, PAP smear/colposcopy, endometrial biopsy if needed to confirm cause.

Specific treatment will depend on cause. Progesterone pill and tranexemic acid will help you to reduce bleeding. Maintain proper pelvic hygiene Eat healthy diet, and drink plenty of water.

Hope this may help you. Contact further if follow up needed.

Best regards,
Dr. Sagar
