What Causes Heavy Menstrual Bleeding After Polyps Removal?

Im having a heavy period after removal of polyps a month ago. I can t even sleep 6 hours without soaking a pad and my bed. Should I stay home and avoid going to work? I work in a environment where I barely having time to eat let alone use the restroom to change my pad.

Hello,
Thanks for sharing your health concern with us. In the current scenario, I would ask you to stay back home and rest until the bleeding is controlled. You may benefit with use of styptics to arrest the bleeding. Usually, after any procedure on the uterus, the subsequent menstrual period tends to be heavier unless a curettage of the endometrium has been performed. Another likely cause for the heavier bleeding is the size of the uterus and associated hormone imbalance. Please see your health care provider for further management. Wish you good health.
