What appears that your husband might need to be hospitalized and treated for asthamatic bronchitis due to following reasons: 1. He is having heavy breathing or difficulty in breathing. 2. Mere treatment with antibiotics like Azithromycin and mucolytic agents like mucinex might not be a complete treatment for his condition. He may require bronchodilator administration by means of nebulization and oxygen administration based on his oxygen saturation. 3. Having fever indicates he is having infection, which need to be controlled effectively for his lung congestion to subside and improve. Hence, kindly rush to the nearest hospital having emergency care facility so that the treatment could be instituted at the earliest after evaluation and his recovery would be better soon.
