What Causes Heavy Bleeding While Coil Is Fitted?
i have a coil fitted but last night i was bleeding with heavy clotting. i have had a miscariage before and it was similar to that. can you get pregnant with a coil fitted, if not what could have caused the clotting. I've had the coil fitted for 2 years with no problems before now

- Sometimes menstrual irregularities can be seen with intrauterine contraceptive devices. That can present as intermenstrual bleeding sometimes.
- Women with intrauterine contraceptive devices are more prone to pelvic infections sometimes, rarely that can also present as intermenstrual bleeding.
