What Causes Heart Palpitations?

For the last several days, I feel like my heart is racing (it is not; my pulse is close to my normal rate). The closest description is it is how I feel when I ve had way too much caffeine, but that is not the case. I m sleeping fine and don t feel especially stressed.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The heart palpitation can be due to panic attack, anemia, hyperthyroidism or some cardiac cause. For primary work up you should first check your blood pressure and CBC.

It's advisable to investigate with serum TSH estimation as well. According to cause specific treatment given.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
