What Causes Headache, Vertigo, Hearing Loss And Involuntary Eye Movements?

I have a 50 year old patient with c/o headache, decreased range of motion in her neck, vertigo, hearing loss in one ear, profuse sweating, and uncontrollable eye movements. Her past medical history indicates she was in a car accident 3 days before her admission. What are the possible causes of these symptoms?

Hello,

A car accident before 3 days of admission indicates central nervous system trauma affecting various vital structures of the brain and conducting system. The headache may be in concern with meningeal irritation, intra cranial hemorrhage and vertigo with hearing loss via cranial nerve VIII involvement, involuntary eye movements via damage to abducens nerve, extra ocular, muscle control in most of the cases. A detailed neurological examination, with CT brain is most important to find out the possible cause and management accordingly.
