What Causes Headache And Fullness In Ears?

I have been having headaches when I go to sleep. After a few hours of sleep, I will wake up with a headache in the top and back of my head. I also feel pressure/fullness in my ears. The headache usually lasts all day after. I have seen my general doctor and cannot find anything. Thank you.

Hello,

First of all, you should measure your blood pressure, if it were high you should receive a medical treatment take aspirin 160 mg twice per day after meals and decrease fat and salt intake every day.

If you are a woman who take oral contraceptive pills or a hormonal replacement therapy, you should ask a gynacologist for help.

Second, if you did not have hypertension, take the pills or a previous middle ear disease, you could have an inner ear disease, namely, Meniere's disease.

You can take Betahistidine 8 mg one tablet every 8 hours before meals. If you did not feel improvement, you could ask a specialist in ear, nose, and throat for help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dr/Mustafa, Neurologist
