What Causes Hand, Foot And Mouth Disease?
Several players on a high school football team have contracted foot and mouth disease which to me means anthrax. This area is more rural than suburban, many dairy and small animal farms as well as horse riding stables. Is this a likely explanation for how these boys have become infected ?

This is caused by enterovirus, not by anthrax. It is a viral infection that is most common in the fall and is spread by sneezing and coughing. It is not uncommon for students in close quarters to spread this infection to each other.
