What Causes Hair Loss With The Family History Of Hypothyroidism?

I have hypothyroidism and I take levothyrozine. My daughter has been experiencing hair loss for about 2 years now. She is 19. She did have a thyroid test done about a year ago. Could she have a thyroid disorder with the hair loss symptoms but not have any other symptoms of thyroid disease?

Thank you for your question.
I understand your concern. From what you have said, I feel there is no need for you to be worried as long as her thyroid tests are normal. And just because you have a thyroid disorder, it doesnt necessarily mean your daughter needs to have it too. For her hair loss, you could consult a dermatologist but before that you could ask her to eat a healthy balanced diet with adequate vitamins.
I hope i have put you at ease and would love to clear any further doubts if you can get back to me.
