Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. I noticed recently that there s a small green spot on my shoulder under the skin that wasn t there before. I scratched it to the point where it scabbed thinking that it was just something topical and that it would go away since there was a bit of blood (maybe like bad blood is being drained?) and now it is fully healing but the green spot is still there! Is this spot a warning of something wrong with me?
As per my clinical experience, there can be various reasons for the green color spot on shoulder as: - Collected blood after trauma or compression - Residual unabsorbed blood which is partially degraded - Secondary bacterial infection with Pseudomonas
If there is no significant pain or discharge from the local area, there sounds that the scab will slough off and you will be healed precisely over next 5-7 days.
If the pain is over 4 to the scale of 10, associated fever or other. It is recommended to consult your primary care for further guidelines.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
